About Me...

This all boils down to my refusal to accept 'what if' or 'if only'. Now how I GOT to this point...

I was born and raised in the small capitol city of Topeka, Kansas. Large family, played basketball, & enjoyed the idea of art. I drew & painted a little, but was never particularly great at either. Shortly after high school I really started watching a lot of films and discovered just how much I loved the artistic process - especially the acting.

Unfortunately, I had the mindset of "Films aren't made in the Midwest, so find a 9-5 that pays the bills and get on with your life". Eventually, I got to the point where that was something I couldn't just accept without even an attempt. I soon discovered there was an indie film and commercial industry in Kansas City and began studying & training, auditioning, and just plain old learning on the job.

I was blessed to not only be cast in small roles from the beginning, but to hold many crew positions. These gave me a better understanding of what everyone brings to the table. They also lead to opportunities to produce & direct, which in turn complimented my acting process. It was incredibly rewarding to have found an artistic outlet that I actually did have more of a talent for than my occasional doodling!

This new-found passion grew into a fire for my craft. Beginning with indie film, I devoted my life to that & then branched out into network television, & soon began booking roles on big budget features as well. Each step of the way has provided lifelong memories & invaluable experiences - & I couldn't be more grateful that I decided it was at least worth a shot!

To wrap all of this up, I would just say that I chose to pursue my dream because life is too short to fold to fear or settle for 'the norm'. I don't aim to put down any way of living life, because sometimes there's nothing more honorable than working that arduous 9-5 to support those that you love. But I think not everyone even gets to discover what they're passionate about, so if you have I feel like you owe it to yourself to pursue it until you can pursue it no longer.

It's such a cliche, but it's so true - two of the saddest phrases in the English language have got to be "IF ONLY..." & "WHAT IF..."!

Off Set...

I still love playing a little basketball, as well as certainly watching the main three American sports, especially come playoff time. Will always follow my Royals, Chiefs, & KSU Wildcats. I enjoy drawing & other works of art. I particularly like the LotR series or anything by my favorite directors. Fascinated by stand-up comedy, thought I don't know that I'll ever do it, myself. Breaking Bad, The Office, The Wire, Arrested Development - I love TV! Spending time with my family whenever I possibly can (not often enough) will always be a favorite.

Finally - ACTING. I've always been extremely empathetic towards people, even when I wish I wasn't, but it has been incredible to see how quickly that forges an immediately connect with my characters. And allows me to bring them to life in new & authentic ways. My life's drive, no question.
